All Hazards Preparedness
The Board has played an integral part in preparing Hamilton County's
plan for behavioral health response preparedness for disasters and
terrorist events.
Because of this early
and ongoing participation, more than 30 trained volunteers have been
working with our local Red Cross to assist hurricane Katrina evacuees in
our area.
The
Board’s disaster preparedness efforts have included:
 |
Collaboration and coordination with the
Red Cross of Greater Cincinnati, Hamilton County Emergency
Management Agency, Cincinnati Fire District, and other local
disaster response organizations. |
 |
Training of a cadre of behavioral health
professionals who can be identified and immediately deployed to
address
Ohio
’s emergency behavioral health needs. |
 |
Dissemination of behavioral health
materials for disaster victims and responders. |
 |
Collaboration with area schools to
intervene with children and teens impacted by disaster and terrorist
attacks. |
