Path A: Recovery Housing (Sober Living)

For residences providing an alcohol and drug-free environment and peer support, but no clinical treatment.

  1. Verification of Standards: Review the required quality standards at Ohio Recovery Housing (ORH).
  2. Apply for certification: Apply for certification through Ohio Recovery Housing (ORH).
  3. Registration: Once certified, you must register the home with the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) Recovery Housing Registry. Note: Per Ohio law, clinical providers cannot refer clients to uncertified homes.
