Becoming a Residential Provider in Hamilton County

Order of Operations

Thank you for your interest in supporting our community. Opening a residential facility is a significant commitment that involves local zoning, state oversight, and strict adherence to health and safety codes.

To protect our residents and ensure quality care, the Hamilton County MHRSB requires all providers to be fully approved by the State of Ohio before applying for local credentialing.

All prospective providers must follow the order of operations outlined on the Residential Provider Process page.

* IMPORTANT: Please do not contact the Board regarding credentialing until you have your final State License (for ACFs) or State Certification (for Recovery Housing) in hand. Our team cannot process applications that are still in the “pending” or “provisional” stage with the State.
